LexOrbis has acquired Inolyst’s IP practice in Bangalore. It now has a team of 10 IP experts and attorneys at its Bangalore office.


Mayer Brown has announced that Brian J Winterfeldt has joined the firm in Washington DC as a partner in the IP practice, where he will serve as co-leader of the firm’s global brand management and internet practice. Joining him in the move are counsel Sherry Jetter (New York), associates Philip Karnofsky (New York) and Phillip Marano (Washington DC), and attorneys Griffin Barnett and Christopher Casavale (Washington DC).


Lecorpio has hired Elisa Cooper as vice president of marketing. Lecorpio has also announced a new partnership with ipan Intellectual Property Associates Network LLC, a leading IP service provider for the payment of patent annuities and trademark renewals.


Chris McLeod

Elkington and Fife has added Chris McLeod to its team as a partner, based in the London office. McLeod previously served as director of trademarks in the London office of Squire Patton Boggs.


Rachel Fetches

HGF has opened a new office in The Hague. This latest expansion – its first in continental Europe – marks the firm’s 11th office. It is led by Achim Krebs, who joins as a partner. HGF has also announced the arrival of Rachel Fetches from Bird & Bird LLP, who joins as a partner in the firm’s London office.


TSAA has appointed Delia Belciu as a partner. Belciu joins from Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen.


Lauren Gore, previously of Corrs Chambers Westgarth, has moved to King & Wood Mallesons.


Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck has acquired Watson Rounds, an IP litigation firm based in Nevada. Brownstein’s IP group now includes more than 30 professionals.


Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP has announced that E Patrick Ellisen has joined as a partner in its IP practice, based in the firm’s Silicon Valley office. Ellisen will focus on representing Taiwanese companies in US and global IP matters.


Walker Morris has appointed trademark attorney Heather Williams to head its trademarks and designs unit. Williams joins from Appleyard Lees.


Leason Ellis has welcomed Michelle Morris as of counsel in its trademark and copyright practice group.


Jenner & Block has announced that John Runeckles has joined its London office as counsel from White & Case LLP.

Edward T Colbert has been elected managing partner of Kenyon & Kenyon LLP.


White & Case LLP has announced the arrival of Arlene Hahn as a partner in its global IP Practice.


Dr PD Theodorides – Dr HG Papaconstantinou Law Office and Dr Helen Papaconstantinou, John Filias & Associates have announced that, with effect from October 1 2015, the two practices have merged into one legal entity, Dr Helen G Papaconstantinou and Partners.


Jean-Carlo Costa has joined BARLAW – Barrera y Asociados as a senior associate. Among other things, Costa was previously vice president of the Peruvian Trademark Office (Transitory Commission).


Tamara A Head has joined the IP department of McDonald Hopkins LLC as an associate.


Castrén & Snellman has appointed Sakari Salonen to head its IP practice and elected him to the firm’s partnership as of February 1 2016. The firm has also appointed Nina Mikander to head the new IP protection team, as well as European trademark and design attorney Katri Kiviniemi.


Katrina Burchell (formerly group IP director at Kering), Deborah Greaves (formerly secretary and general counsel of True Religion Apparel Inc), Jean-Pierre Maeder (formerly group head of brand IP at Nestlé), Bruce Proctor (formerly senior vice president and general counsel for Diageo North America) and Célia Ullmann (formerly head of the worldwide trademark group at Philip Morris International) have launched IP-PORTUNITY Consulting. IP-PORTUNITY provides consulting services to global corporations, law firms and consulting companies.


Rouse has opened a new office in Africa as part as a tie-up with South African boutique Von Seidels. The joint venture will trade as Rouse Africa.


IP specialist firms HOYNG MONEGIER and Reimann Osterrieth Köhler Haft (ROKH) have joined forces. They now operate under the name of HOYNG ROKH MONEGIER.


Fox Rothschild LLP has added Lori S Kozak, a former trademark examining attorney for the US Patent and Trademark Office, as a partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office.
